Thanks to their properties, Rhodia High Performances Silicas are used as technical fillers in green tire manufacturing: especially in the tire tread for wet grip enhancement and reduction of rolling resistance, thereby fuel consumption.

At the beginning of the 1990’s, Rhodia invented a new generation of silicas : Highly Dispersible Silicas for high performance tires.

With the new filler, High Performance Tires which incorporate a large amount of silica in tread, could be developed (Green tires, Winter tires, …). It gives the optimum balance of wear resistance, rolling resistance and wet traction which is required for performance tires.
