Rhodia’s precipitated silica and sodium alumino-silicates play a key role as a functional additive at various stages in the paper making process. In that role, our silicas improve the mechanical strength of the paper sheet, pulp rheology (thickness), printability on thin paper sheets, opacity, and gloss.

Our precipitated silicas also are used as a absorbant to coat special papers such as inkjet or DIAZO papers, as they help boost printing quality and accuracy for improved ink penetration and control.
