Silica for silicone Silica, or silicon dioxide, SiO2, in its pure form
is colorless to white. Silica is widely and abundantly distributed throughout
the earth, both in the pure state and in silicates, (e.g., in quartz,
agate, amethyst, chalcedony, flint, jasper, onyx and rock crystal), opal,
sand, sandstone, clay, granite and many other rocks. Silica occurs in
several forms and is involuable in water, slightly soluble in alkalies
and soluble in dilute hydrofluoric acid. Rhodia Silica Systems has recently developed highly innovative grades for the silicone elastomer industry. Nowadays elastomer manufacturers value not only more efficient reinforcement but also solutions that perform better in processing. Our silica offer respond to their needs: Higher purity, allowing excellent electrical properties, excellent swelling
resistance, and better color stability. For further information about this market, please click on Rhodia Silica Systems Polymer Performance Brochure. For specific information on how Rhodia’s range of precipitated silicas can help your business : On Rhodia-silica.com, find content about : |
